If I were to cancel FIOS and sign up to JUST stream my Regional Sports Channels of YES and MSG Networks the cost would be $55 month (Yes is $25/mo, MSG is $30/mo). Case in point I pay less then $50/mo for my More FIOS TV package (325+ channels) that includes all local Broadcast channel, the major sport networks and my Regional NYC Sport networks. However Sports Network and Regional Sports Networks are a different beast when it comes to their streaming prices compared to their Linear channels. The premiums will be the first networks I suspect that will start shutting down, or minimizing their linear channel activities.I tend to agree that Premiums will be the first to cut ties with cable companies as the Price for Paramount+ Showtime is cheaper then the Fios $15 Showtime Package though many customer have it included with their base plan. This is just a sign of the market shifting. (As a matter of fact, Paramount+ is probably cheaper than what you pay for on cable, and literally has all Showtime content from at least the last two decades.) Showtime has recently been added to Paramount+, so you can call up ALL shows from there. I would not be surprised that other companies - such as Max and Peacock follow suit with any cable-tied apps and stop developing them further. The market is shifting enough now for most people to see directly that it is actually shifting. Removing such apps that are closely related to cable companies or cable-like services such as FIOS is a great step in promoting their product, as people who prefer on-demand or use on-demand type services a lot may just want to ditch the linear channels and the DVR, and go for the "just call up anything on Showtime at any time" experience.Įvery few months I see more signs as to how the world is slowly ditching linear channels and replacing them with on-demand services. The premiums will be the first networks I suspect that will start shutting down, or minimizing their linear channel activities. It also does not state what other App would replace it, if any.Showtime has recently been added to Paramount+, so you can call up ALL shows from there. Please contact them to learn about other ways you can watch Showtime." However, your Showtime subscription through your TV provider will remain active. ![]() Showtime Anytime is shutting down on 12/14/23. On the Homepage, it stats that: "Attention. It has been several Months since that has happened. Today, I received an App Update to the Showtime Anytime App.
